Fastenal 1/2-Inch-13 x 2-Inch Hex Drive Zinc Alloy Steel Socket Head Cap Screw

The Fastenal Socket Head Cap Screws are ideal for precision work with close tolerances and applications needing a well-tooled appearance. Socket Head Cap screws supply greater tensile strength than equivalent Hex Head Caps screws while requiring less surface area to counterbore. Zinc plating retards the corrosion rate in a normal atmosphere.

Due to their hardness, A574s have a risk of hydrogen embrittlement when zinc plated. Alternatives such as Grade 8 zinc-plated or Ecoguard-coated A574 socket heads are not susceptible to internal hydrogen embrittlement.
